Qualification

Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grade at the preceding degree, with a very good academic record throughout. Applicants holding a provisional certificate for Ph.D. are also eligible.

For faculty positions in the Civil and Chemical Engineering Departments, a B.Tech/BE degree in the respective discipline is required; however, the requirement of a basic degree in Civil engineering may be waived in exceptionally qualified cases as follows:

• Water Resources Engineering: Candidates with a basic degree in Agricultural Sciences/Agricultural Engineering or allied fields with research orientation toward experimental, theoretical and numerical/modeling aspects of soil-water-plant interaction may apply.
• Geomatics Engineering: Candidates with a basic degree in Earth Sciences and adequate exposure to surveying with research orientation toward remote sensing, GIS, etc. may apply.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of post-Ph.D. teaching, research, or industrial experience is required. Candidates with less experience may be placed on tenure-track assistant-professor contracts, which may be regularized after satisfactory performance and completion of the minimum experience requirement.
