People Konnect in Mumbai seeks a corporate tax professional to manage direct and indirect tax, GST compliance, and audit support. You will advise on transfer pricing, cross-border withholding, and tax provisions under Ind AS for NBFCs, with cross-functional collaboration across Accounts, Legal, and Treasury.
The role involves ensuring timely TDS/TCS filings, Form 26AS/AIS reconciliation, and staying updated on Finance Act changes.
Own corporate income tax computation, advance tax, return filing, and tax audit,
covering the Income-tax Act, 2025 (effective 1 April 2026) and the 1961 Act for
pending assessments and litigation
Manage NBFC-specific issues: tax treatment of NPA interest, deductibility of bad
debts and ECL provisions under Ind AS 109, special reserve deductions (where
applicable, e.g. for HFCs), ICDS adjustments, and MAT/book profit adjustments
Compute current and deferred tax under Ind AS 12, including uncertain tax positions
and tax note disclosures
Ensure TDS/TCS compliance across interest, commission (DSA/BC), professional
fees, rent, salary, and NCD/securities payments, including quarterly returns, lower-
deduction certificates, and reconciliation with Form 26AS/AIS
Advise on the tax treatment of securitisation, direct assignment, co-lending, and
Evaluate the tax impact of new products, fee structures, borrowing instruments
(NCDs, ECBs, subordinated debt), and fundraises
Manage transfer pricing for related-party transactions, including documentation
Handle cross-border withholding and Form 15CA/15CB for foreign lenders and
investors, with treaty analysis
Own GST compliance across all state registrations: monthly returns, annual return and
reconciliation, e-invoicing applicability, and GSTR-2B reconciliation
Determine GST treatment of processing fees, documentation and foreclosure charges,
penal charges, co-lending and DA arrangements, and reverse charge items (e.g.
director fees, legal services, GTA)
Track state-level issues with different tax authorities
Manage scrutiny and faceless assessments, rectifications, and appeals before CIT(A),
ITAT, GST authorities, and the GST Appellate Tribunal, working with external
counsel
Maintain a litigation tracker with exposure quantification, contingent liability inputs,
and status reporting to the CFO and Audit Committee
Draft and review submissions, replies to notices, and representations
Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and tax auditors on tax positions
and disclosures
Build and maintain tax controls, checklists, and a compliance calendar (SOX-
style/IFC-ready)
Partner with Accounts, Treasury, FP&A, Legal, Credit, and Operations so tax is built
into product and pricing decisions
Support due diligence for fundraises, lender or investor reviews, and M&A
Track legislative and regulatory changes (Finance Act amendments, CBDT/CBIC
circulars, GST Council decisions, judicial rulings) and brief leadership on their impact
Drive automation of TDS/GST reconciliation, data pipelines from the LMS and ERP,
and dashboards that reduce manual effort and errors.
