Job summary

Lever, Inc. in India is partnering with a client to hire an Actuarial Analyst for pricing and analytics of homeowners insurance in a fully remote environment.

You will engage in data prep, exploratory analysis, predictive modeling, and pricing analysis, with exposure to GLM modeling, rating relativities, and regulatory rate filing support. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
  • At least one actuarial exam successfully completed; commitment to progressing through additional exams.
  • 2–4 years of relevant actuarial experience or internships.
  • Strong Excel skills; basic SQL; Python or R a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Experience collaborating with US-based teams in a remote environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently remotely.
  • Quiet home workspace with reliable internet (>=30 Mbps down, >=10 Mbps up).
  • Availability to work 8 hours daily with 4 core US-hours overlap (7:30 PM–11:30 PM IST) and 4 additional IST hours.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, clean, and validate datasets for pricing and actuarial analyses with data quality checks.
  • Compile exhibits and analyses for insurance rate filings.
  • Conduct competitive rate comparisons and market trend analyses.
  • Perform actuarial analyses, interpret results, and report findings with senior guidance.
  • Assist in developing, testing, and validating GLMs and rating relativities.
  • Participate in technical reviews and incorporate feedback to improve deliverables.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to monitor pricing and portfolio performance.
  • Maintain analytical tools and processes used by the actuarial team.
  • Pursue actuarial credentials through continued exams and learning.

This is an exciting opportunity to support pricing and actuarial analytics for homeowners insurance products in a fully remote environment. You’ll work across data preparation, exploratory analysis, predictive modeling, and pricing analysis while learning from experienced actuarial professionals. Your analytical work will contribute directly to pricing strategies, financial performance, and effective risk management. Accountabilities
  • Prepare, clean, and validate datasets used for pricing and actuarial analyses, including performing detailed data quality checks.

  • Participate in technical and peer reviews, incorporating feedback to improve analytical work and deliverables.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to monitor pricing and portfolio performance following implementation.
  • Support and maintain analytical tools and processes used by the actuarial team.
  • Maintain progress toward actuarial credentials through continued exam completion, technical development, and professional learning.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • At least one actuarial exam successfully completed, with demonstrated commitment to progressing through additional actuarial exams.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience, including actuarial internships or entry-level actuarial positions.
  • Strong Excel skills and basic proficiency in SQL; experience with Python or R is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience working with US-based business teams and an understanding of professional collaboration across remote environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to organize priorities, manage deadlines, and work independently in a fully remote setting.
  • A quiet and suitable home workspace with a reliable internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.
  • Availability to work 8 hours per day, excluding breaks, including 4 core US-hours of overlap from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST and 4 additional flexible hours in IST.
