Qualifications

• CA/ACCA/CPA with 3–6 years post-qualification experience.

• Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements and notes.

Responsibilities

• Manage stat audit support activities with minimal discrepancies.
• Adhere to the client compliance calendar to close audits on deadlines.

• Conduct technical accounting research on revenue, ECL, intercompany, and leases.

Role name

Senior – Detail oriented with understanding of managing statutory audit and financial statements preparation, flux analysis. The role requires demonstrated ability to communicate properly and understand technical accounting issues and audit queries.

The opportunity

The Senior will play a critical role in supporting end-to-end audit, preparation/ review of financial statements including notes to accounts in compliance with accounting standards, current and deferred tax computation, and timely submission of ad-hoc deliverables for the client. The role also supports EY SAWT administration, standardization and controlled automation.

Your key responsibilities

• Efficiently manage the stat audit support activities ensuring minimum to no discrepancies during the audit process
• Meticulous adherence to the compliance calendar of client to ensure smooth closure of audit within the agreed deadlines
• Prepare/ review financial statements including notes to accounts in line with various accounting standards such as IAS, IFRS
• Preparation/ review of current and deferred tax computation as per basic tax principles
• Conduct in-depth technical accounting research, with a primary focus on complex topics such as revenue recognition, ECL provision, Intercompany reconciliation and lease accounting
• Coordinate audit support, review evidence and resolve audit queries with stakeholders.
• Serve as the single point of contact and trusted advisor for country controllers, country teams, auditors’ and multiple other stakeholders.
• Review technical accounting matters and **escalate** significant judgments.
• Perform additional project related responsibilities as well as ad-hoc requests as and when required
• Effectively communicating risks and issues as necessary to manager group
• Lead assigned workstreams, review Staff output and drive automation and timely closure.
• Coordinate EY SAWT administration and deployment support, including issue tracking.

Skills and attributes for success

• Strong technical accounting and financial statement preparation skills.
• In-depth understanding of the end-to-end audit process, with experience in managing audit requirements, evidence and query resolution.
• Ability to review workpapers and provide clear review comments.
• Hands on working with large ERP (SAP/ S4 Hana/ Workiva preferred)
• Strong exposure of working with MS tools like Excel, Word, Power point etc.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
• Strong stakeholder management, prioritisation and team-coordination skills.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA/CPA) with 3 - 6 years of post-qualification work experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of Accounting Standards (IAS/ IFRS/ US GAAP)
• Basic understanding of direct and indirect taxes
• Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements and notes.

• Excellent communication with strong problem-solving skills, capable of challenging the status quo to drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, take complete ownership of tasks, and work collaboratively across teams
• Proven track of working with leaders across hierarchies and managing the deliverables under a fast-changing environment with accurate quality in a metrics environment.
