Job summary

Trimble Information Solutions India is seeking an Accountant for its Chennai SSC to support monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings with accuracy. You will manage general ledger activities, reconciliations, and reporting, reporting to the Accounting Team Lead in a multinational setup.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in core accounting, strong Excel, and hands‑on ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics) with knowledge of US GAAP and Indian standards.

Qualifications

• CA Intermediate (ICAI) or Bachelor/Master in Commerce/Finance.
• 3–5 years in core accounting in GCC/SSC or multinational.
• US GAAP and Ind AS knowledge desirable.
• Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas).
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Strong English communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Financial Closing and reporting.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing cycles.
• Prepare and post manual journal entries with documentation.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Ind AS as applicable.
• Maintain fixed asset registers, prepaid schedules, and accruals.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and provide schedules.

Job Description: Accountant

Location: Chennai, India

Reporting To: Accounting Team Lead

Working schedule: 4days a week in the office, late start 12 am to support European time zone.

Role Overview

Trimble is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Accountant to join our Shared Service Center (SSC) in Chennai. As a key member of the finance team, you will support monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across regional and global operations.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a solid technical foundation who thrives in a collaborative, multinational environment. Reporting directly to the Accounting Team Lead, you will be responsible for general ledger activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Financial Closing
• Support full monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing cycles in accordance with strict corporate deadlines.
• Prepare and post manual journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP as well as local Indian accounting standards/statutory requirements.
• Maintain and update fixed asset registers, prepaid schedules, and accrual workings.
• Reconciliations & Audit Support
• Perform regular balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare routine financial reports and schedules for the Accounting Team Lead and regional stakeholders.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing necessary schedules, documentation, and transaction details.
• Process Improvement & Efficiency
• Identify opportunities to streamline day‑to‑day accounting workflows within the SSC.
• Support process standardisation, digitalisation initiatives, and ERP system enhancements to drive operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education & Professional Qualification:
• CA Intermediate (ICAI) preferred, OR a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce (B.Com / M.Com), Finance, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in core accounting roles, ideally within a Global Capability Centre (GCC), Shared Service Center (SSC), or multinational company.
• Accounting Principles:
• Strong foundation in core accounting practices. Practical exposure to US GAAP and Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills:
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas).
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics).
• Communication & Mindset:
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for collaborating with international teams.
• Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
