Job summary

This role will partner with finance stakeholders to maintain accurate accounting records, improve accounting processes, support system functionality, and help ensure compliance with corporate policies and segregation of duties requirements. The role may also support accounts payable, billing, and related finance activities as business needs evolve.## **Key Responsibilities**## Accounting Operations* Manage and support day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger processes and accounting support functions.* Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations.* Review accounting transactions and financial records for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with corporate policies.* Provide accounting support for cross-functional stakeholders and global finance teams.## General Ledger and System Support* Serve as a key resource for general ledger administration and related accounting system functionality.* Support process improvements, system enhancements, and accounting workflow optimization.* Partner with Finance, IT, and business users to troubleshoot accounting system issues and improve transactional efficiency.* Assist with accounting setup, process design, and system-related support connected to business growth or control requirements.## Controls, Compliance, and Review* Support implementation and ongoing monitoring of segregation of duties controls.* Help identify control gaps, process risks, and opportunities to strengthen the accounting control environment.* Participate in internal and external audit support activities as needed.* Maintain documentation and ensure accounting practices are aligned to company standards and applicable requirements.## AP, Billing, and Operational Support* Provide support for accounts payable, billing, and accounting review activities as assigned.* Assist with expanded accounting support needs tied to business requirements, system changes, or process transitions.* Contribute to standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across accounting activities.## **Required Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.* Progressive accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of general ledger, close, reconciliations, and financial review activities.* Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and segregation of duties concepts.* Experience working with ERP or accounting systems and supporting accounting process improvements.* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.* Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with finance and business stakeholders.## **Preferred Qualifications*** Professional accounting certification such as CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent.* Experience in a multinational, shared services, or global business support environment.* Experience supporting AP, billing, accounting system enhancements, or finance transformation initiatives.* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using ERP reporting tools.## **What Success Looks Like*** Accurate and timely accounting support for close, reconciliation, and review processes.* Strong support of general ledger administration and accounting system functionality.* Improved accounting controls, including effective support of segregation of duties requirements.* Proactive partnership with finance stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes.* Reliable support for AP, billing, and broader accounting operations as business needs expand.Lummus Technology is the global leader in developing technology solutions that make modern life possible and focus on a more sustainable, low carbon future.
