Solenis in Hyderabad's Global Excellence Center (GEC) is hiring an Accountant I to support plant accounting & controlling activities across assigned plants, reporting to the Plant Accounting & Controlling Manager. The role covers monthly close, cost analyses, GR/IR, inventory management, and budget/forecast responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has CMA/CA or CMA/CA inter, 2–3 years in manufacturing, strong SAP FI/CO skills, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Education CMA/CA or CMA/CA inter with relevant experience.
• 2–3 years’ experience in manufacturing plant accounting and reporting.
• SAP FI/CO knowledge is required; MM/PP/SD knowledge is a plus.
• Strong communication, presentation and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of monthly close process for plants and inventory.
• Maintain monthly close checklists for assigned plants.
• Perform material cost analysis, BOM and Recipe comparisons.
• Evaluate over/under applied and explain variances.

We're Hiring: Accountant I

Reports to: Plant Accounting & Controlling Manager

Location: Hyderabad, India – Hybrid; Full‑Time | Permanent Position

What you need to be successful

Job Description

The incumbent will perform Plant Accounting & Controlling activities in GSS for all assigned plants, reporting to a local Plant Accounting Leader in the GSS. This position will perform monthly plant closing activities, standard & actual cost analysis, GR&IR analysis, plant fixed cost analysis and inventory management. It will also handle budget and forecasting activities on a quarterly and yearly basis.

This role will build a good understanding of plant operations and the operating processes to ensure the plant accountant role is handled properly. It requires a high degree of analytical expertise and the ability to manage and communicate key drivers and results of their assigned plants that aggregate up to consolidated regional and global plant results.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Develop a complete understanding of the monthly close process related to assigned plants and inventory accounting.
• Maintain the completion of the monthly close checklists for assigned plants during month‑end closing.
• Perform detailed material cost analysis comparing with previous month cost and BOM & Recipe.
• Perform monthly evaluation of over/under applied and unusual items, including analysis of plant actual cost compared to both budget and forecasted results with detailed explanation.
• Prepare and post the accrual and corrective journal entries as needed.
• Perform certain General Ledger Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Cost Controlling activities.
• Prepare the annual plant budgets for fixed cost under the direction of the key stakeholders.
• Prepare the annual establishment of standard activity rates and the periodic review of the rates if volumes/fixed costs vary materially from plan.
• Assist in financial audits and audit requests.
• Prepare production volume reports and analysis.
• Execute plant distribution and assessment cycles.
• Prepare GRIR, SMOG reporting and analysis.

INTEGRITY

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

EDUCATION: CMA/CA, CMA/CA inter with relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE

• 2–3 years’ experience in any manufacturing plant and exposure to material ledger and plant closing and reporting process is must.
• Good communication, presentation, analytical and leadership skills, ability to motivate team members.
• SAP FI/CO module knowledge is must; understanding of MM, PP&SD modules is an advantage.
• Tableau, OneStream reporting tools knowledge is an advantage.

Skills: Behavioral & technical exposure to SAP in finance operations, standard cost and plant accounting experience in SAP, exposure to client management and transitions, ability to gel with big teams and be a strong team player, good communication skills, ability to drive results, strong knowledge in MS Excel and PowerPoint, self‑motivated, proactive, and able to take on challenges.
