Job summary

ABB hires a Senior Software Engineer for AI Platforms & Applications in Bengaluru to drive development of AI-enabled applications, cloud-native platforms, and intelligent automation that power ABB's Industrial AI and Copilot ecosystem.

You will collaborate with Architects, AI/ML Engineers, Product Management, Platform Engineering, and DevOps to design, deploy scalable software integrating AI, MLOps, and modern cloud technologies across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• 617years of experience in software engineering with strong expertise in developing enterprise-grade, cloud-native applications using Python and modern software development practices.
• Hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning integration, MLOps practices, Azure Machine Learning, AutoML workflows, and model lifecycle management.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-native deployment models.
• Good understanding of observability, monitoring, logging, telemetry, cybersecurity best practices, and secure software development for enterprise applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with experience working in Agile, cross-functional, and globally distributed engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable AI-enabled applications, backend services, APIs, and cloud-native microservices using modern software engineering practices to deliver secure and high-performing enterprise solutions.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will join ABB's Industrial Automation Digital Organization as a Senior Software Engineer AI Platforms & Applications. You will contribute to the development of next-generation AI-enabled applications, cloud-native platforms, and intelligent automation solutions that power ABB's Industrial AI and Copilot ecosystem. Working closely with Architects, AI/ML Engineers, Product Management, Platform Engineering, and DevOps teams, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions that integrate AI capabilities, MLOps workflows, and modern cloud technologies to deliver innovative industrial digital products.

This role is contributing to the Digital Industry Analytics / Research & Development organization in Bangalore, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:
