Job summary

Speed Global in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer with hands-on Creo modelling and CAD/PLM expertise. The role requires 2–6 years of experience in engine components, 3D modelling, 2D drafting, and GD&T know-how.

You will develop concepts, packaging layouts, and participate in PLM change management to ensure timely project delivery. Candidate should have a BE/BTech in mechanical engineering, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech Mechanical or associated branches.
  • 2 to 6 years of experience.
  • Must have knowledge/experience of Engine domain.
  • Creo Advanced part modelling with features and parameters.
  • Windchill PLM (Change management, part structure management).
  • Basic understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M).
  • Knowledge of stack up (DVAs).
  • Knowledge of casting processes.
  • Good to have engines peripherals knowledge.
  • Communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ownership towards work and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Strong hands-on experience in 3D modelling and 2D drafting/detailing using Creo (preferably v8.0/9.0).
  • Understand requirements and create design concepts and packaging layouts.
  • Execute projects efficiently while maintaining quality.
  • Provide design solutions proactively and solve problems.
  • Use problem-solving techniques to analyze issues and derive solutions.
  • Participate in internal meetings and suggest design improvements.
  • Handle changes and new releases in PLM systems (Windchill).
  • Create internal process documents for new processes.
  • Collaborate with others to meet timelines and resolve issues.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strong hands‑on experience in 3D modelling and 2D drafting/detailing of mechanical components and assemblies using Advance CREO. Preferred version 8.0 or 9.0.
  • Ability to understand requirements, perform basic design calculations, create design concepts / packaging layouts.
  • To execute project efficiently and maintaining quality.
  • Provide solutions to design related problems proactively.
  • Use various problem‑solving techniques to analyze the problems and in finding out solutions.
  • Participate in internal meetings, suggest solutions to resolve design related problems
  • Handle technical changes and new releases in PLM systems (Wind‑chill or similar)
  • Create internal process documents for the new processes based on the requirements
  • Collaborate with others to meet timelines as well as solve problems
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • B.E/BTech Mechanical or Associated Branches.
  • 2 to 6 Years.
  • Must Have - knowledge and/or work experience of Engine domain ( Engine functioning and knowhow of critical assembly parts
  • Creo Advanced part modelling (casting best practices, Blends, swept blends, shrink‑wraps, merge inheritance, draft creation and analysis skills), Family table, Relations, parameters.
  • Windchill PLM (Change management, part structure management, CAD part associations)
  • Basic understanding of GD&T (ASME Y 14.5M all 14 symbols and their applications rules of GD&T
  • Knowledge of Stack up (DVAs)
  • User level knowledge of casting processes (types, applications and design considerations)
  • Good to Have - Knowledge of engines peripherals, types and their applications.
  • Communication Skills (Written and verbal both)
  • Ownership towards work
  • Interpersonal skills (to interact with stakeholders and cross functional teams etc.)
