Job summary

Cephas Consultancy Services Private Limited in Bengaluru and Delhi is seeking an experienced Application Engineer - Motion Control & Automation to design advanced automation solutions for machine builders.

You will work with servo drives, PLCs, and motion controllers, engage with OEMs and customers, and lead technical workshops from concept to commissioning, with significant travel across India.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
5-8 years in Industrial Automation, Motion Control, Application Engineering, or Machine Automation
Good knowledge of Electronics, Drives, PLC, servo and motion controller
Willingness to travel up to 80%

Responsibilities

Architect machine automation solutions using servo drives, motion controllers, PLCs, and networks.
Develop robust motion control concepts for OEMs and key customers.
Define control topologies and integration strategies.
Lead technical discussions and workshops with customers.
Create and validate application software for machine control systems.
Commission live systems, troubleshoot issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
Share market insights with product teams.

What You'll Do

Design Advanced Automation Solutions

Architect machine automation solutions using servo drives, motion controllers, PLCs, and industrial networks.
Develop robust motion control concepts for OEMs and strategic customers.
Evaluate technical feasibility and identify the most effective automation.
Define control topologies, communication networks, and system integration strategies.

Partner with Customers & Sales Teams

Lead technical discussions, workshops, and application reviews with customers.
Translate customer challenges into innovative automation solutions.
Support strategic business opportunities with differentiated technical proposals.
Act as the technical authority during solution development and customer evaluations.

Develop & Integrate Automation Software

Create and validate application software for machine control systems.
Support PLC, HMI, motion controller, and industrial communication integration.
Optimize machine performance, reliability, and functionality.

Commission & Validate Live Systems

Support prototype development, testing, commissioning, and machine start-up activities.
Troubleshoot complex automation issues and perform root-cause analysis.
Ensure successful project implementation and customer acceptance.

Drive Technical Excellence

Develop reusable application standards and engineering best practices.
Deliver technical training to customers, partners, and internal teams.
Share market insights and emerging technology trends with global product teams.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in:

Experience

5-8 years of experience in Industrial Automation, Motion Control, Application Engineering, or Machine Automation
Good knowledge of Electronics, Drives, PLC, servo and motion controller
Hands-on experience with commissioning, programming, hardware diagnostics, root cause analysis, technical troubleshooting and report generation
Comfortable with extensive customer interaction and travel (up to 80%)
