Job summary

EXL Talent Acquisition Team is seeking a skilled Appian Developer in India to design, develop, and implement process automation solutions on the Appian Low-Code BPM platform. You will collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other developers to deliver enterprise applications aligned with business goals and technical requirements.

Responsibilities include building end-to-end Appian solutions, integrating with REST/SOAP APIs, participating in SDLC, testing, deployment, and performance

Qualifications

• 2–7 years of Appian development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Appian design objects: Process Models, Interfaces, Data Fabric, Rules, Web APIs, AI Skills.
• Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and relational databases.
• Proficient debugging and problem-solving skills, good communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end Appian solutions using BPM platform features.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into Appian designs.
• Participate in full SDLC: requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment and support.
• Perform unit and integration testing and troubleshoot issues across Appian.
• Ensure adherence to Appian best practices and standards.
• Integrate Appian with third-party systems via REST/SOAP APIs and middleware.
• Contribute to code reviews and ongoing process improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and support production deployments.

Job Summary

A skilled and motivated Appian Developer to design, develop, and implement process automation solutions using the Appian Low-Code BPM platform. The ideal candidate will work closely with business analysts, architects, and other developers to deliver high-quality enterprise applications that meet business goals and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end solutions using Appian BPM platform features including process models, records, interfaces, rules, web APIs, Integration and AI skills
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable Appian solutions
• Participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and troubleshoot technical issues across the Appian platform
• Ensure adherence to Appian best practices and design standards
• Integrate Appian with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware tools
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
• Create and maintain technical documentation for solutions delivered
• Support production deployments, performance tuning, and user issue resolution

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 2–7 years of Appian development experience
• Proficiency in Appian 21.x or higher, with strong knowledge of Appian design objects such as: Process Models Data Fabric Interfaces (SAIL) Web APIs AI Skills & Document Extraction Appian RPA Sites and Reports Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)
• Strong understanding of BPM principles, Appian architecture, and Appian application lifecycle
• Experience with RESTful web services, JSON/XML, and API integration
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and reusable code
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Skills

• Appian Certified Developer (Associate or Senior) is a strong plus
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
• Knowledge of DevOps/CI-CD practices for Appian applications
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
