Job summary

SGS & Co in Mumbai seeks a Production Artist to support pre-press for packaging and artwork. You will handle basic to complex artwork, color-managed files, and render simple 2D/3D visuals for client projects.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in prepress/graphic arts, strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, and proficiency in Mac OS and MS Office. The role requires careful attention to detail and the ability to work in rotational shifts.

Qualifications

• Diploma or GED (2+ years) to perform key accountabilities.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, Advertising, Interior Design or related fields.
• Previous experience in prepress, graphic arts, or related field in print manufacturing.
• Proficiency in: Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in: Adobe Photoshop.
• Proficiency in: Adobe Acrobat.
• Color Management knowledge; RGB & CMYK.
• Mac OS and Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Work in a dynamic speed-to-market team with minimal supervision.
• Prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Record accurate data on MIS for production timings.
• Create strong internal partnerships and collaborate with clients.
• Make recommendations for improvements in reports and tools.
• Able to work in rotational shifts.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand the structure of a pre-press file, color space, and requirements necessary for successful results.
• Attends any client meetings (e.g. pre-production) as necessary.
• Ensures accurate, consistent, and timely completion of high quality basic to intermediate or complex level Artwork, effectively using industry standard software, tools, and Print techniques.
• Create simple/basic 2D and/or 3D renders.
• 2D image manipulation – packaging artwork and final product image.
• Meet quality standards for assigned deliverables and makes recommendations to Management for improvements in reports, tools, processes and assigned tasks.
• Works well in a dynamic, speed-to-market focused team environment with a minimum supervision
• Ability to prioritize workload, proactively seek answers to questions, and meet assigned deadlines
• Use internal MIS to record accurate data on personal production timings.
• Create strong and effective internal partnerships, and collaborate across clients
• Make recommendations to Management for improvements in reports, tools, processes, and assigned tasks.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of education and experience (2+ years) sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in appropriate disciplines such as Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, Advertising, Interior Design or other related fields such as fine arts or fashion preferred.
• Previous experience in prepress, graphic arts, or related field in print manufacturing required
