Position Overview

We are seeking a multi-talented and creative individual with strong skills in character animation, storyboarding, and conceptual sketching. The ideal candidate is a storyteller at heart, capable of taking a character from an initial sketch through a storyboard panel and into a fully realized, emotionally resonant performance. You will be an integral part of our pre-production and production teams, helping to define the visual style and narrative flow of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

Character Animation:

• Create high-quality, expressive 2D character animation that conveys personality, emotion, and weight.
• Utilize software such as Adobe Animate, After Effects (with Duik Bassel, Limber, etc.), and other 2D animation tools to bring characters to life.
• Work closely with the director and art lead to ensure animation aligns with the project's style and vision.
• Develop character rigs and maintain organized files for efficient animation pipelines.
• Implement feedback and make revisions in a timely manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional skill in 2D character animation, storyboarding, and character sketching.
• Proficiency in Adobe Animate and the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop for storyboarding/sketching).
• Solid understanding of the principles of animation (squash and stretch, anticipation, timing, etc.).
• Excellent drawing skills with a keen sense of anatomy, form, weight, and perspective.
• Ability to tell a story visually through sequential art and character performance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to accept and implement constructive feedback.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, meeting production deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Skills)

• Experience with other 2D animation software (Toon Boom Harmony, TVPaint, Clip Studio Paint).
• Basic knowledge of video editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) for creating animatics.
• Experience in a story artist or character designer role on a shipped project (game, film, series).
• Understanding of cinematography and visual language
