Job summary

Maxit Tax application team is seeking a highly skilled Lead Associate, Software Engineering to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru. You will participate in developing complex features, analyze business requirements with both technical and non-technical staff, and demonstrate strong Java, SQL, and shell scripting capabilities.

The ideal candidate will lead design and implementation of scalable batch apps, optimize queries, and contribute to CICD improvements while collaborating with stakeholders

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• 12+ years of Spring/J2EE application development experience (Spring Framework, Servlets, JDBC).
• 2+ years of relational database experience; Oracle preferred.
• Experience with JMS/MQ messaging and Rest API development.
• Web technologies including Angular, HTML, JavaScript, CSS; build tools Maven/Jenkins/Gradle.
• Version control with GitLab; OCI cloud experience preferred.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot software applications and optimize queries.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, implement and test multi-tier apps using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, REST, and Oracle.
• Design and implement scalable batch apps with Spring Batch, focusing on concurrency.
• Extract business requirements from existing Java code and create tests.
• Produce technical proposals and documentation for new development.
• Write efficient SQL, review query performance, and optimize without changing results.
• Maintain and improve CICD frameworks and GitLab pipelines.
• Leverage modern AI tools, agents, frameworks, and OCI in architecture.
• Work with Kafka and Redis for messaging and caching; dockize legacy apps.
• Perform code reviews, ensure quality, and collaborate with onshore/offshore teams.
• Engage with Business Analysts, Architects and Product Owners for impact analysis.
• Upgrade legacy systems and drive architectural improvements.

Maxit is a cost basis processing and tax reporting system that supports brokerage firm for their tax regulatory need.

Maxit Tax application team

is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individuals to take on the role of Lead Associate, Software Engineering to join our dynamic team. The Lead Associate, Software Engineering, will participate in the development of more complex features or components, and demonstrate a deeper understanding of software development. The ideal candidate will be able to work with both technical and non-technical staff to analyze and understand business requirements. Candidates must have strong skills in developing Java software solutions, data analysis, and with a solid understanding of SQL. Additionally, knowledge of shell scripting is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, implement and test multi-tier applications using technologies like Spring Boot 2.7+, Spring Batch, Spring REST Webservices, Spring Security, RabbitMQ, JDBC, XML, JSON and applications with Oracle as database
• Ability to design and implement scalable, high performance batch applications with Spring batch and the ability to demonstrate strong fundamentals in concurrency and multi-threaded systems
• Ability to follow existing Java code and extract business requirements for research. Ability to create code and accurately identify and create test cases to cover issues in the code are critical skills
• Ability to formulate technical proposals and create relevant documentation for new development
• Write efficient SQL queries; Be able to review existing query performance and improve queries without impacting result set
• Familiar with git repositories and has worked with implementing and improving CICD frameworks
• Has worked with modern AI tools, has setup agents and framework and can bring that knowledge to the team
• Has worked with OCI and implemented and can aid in improving the architecture in place
• Understands and has implemented MCP agents
• Has working knowledge with modern message queues and caching patterns using Kafka and Redis
• Has experience unifying and converting applications into a dockized eco-system
• Perform code review, code quality, compliance, and best practice checks. Provide constructive criticism for on shore/offshore peers
• Understanding of Incident and Problem management methodologies and experience using Jira ticketing software
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively work with Business Analysts, Architects and Product Owners on requirements. Have ability to provide impact analysis, propose a solution and implement it.
• Has hands on experience upgrading legacy systems and working on architectural improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of Spring/J2EE application development experience (Spring Framework, Servlets, JDBC)
• 2+ years of relational database experience, developing queries and stored procedures (Preferably Oracle)
• Experience in JMS, MQ based messaging services.
• Web technologies including Angular, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX
• Rest API
• Build tools, Maven, Jenkins, Gradle.
• Version control: Gitlab
• Experience managing and troubleshooting Cloud based applications (Preferably OCI).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot software applications
• Detail oriented, excellent analytical skills and good interpersonal skills
