Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in Coimbatore seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own mechanical activities for ESDM hardware, delivering reliable designs and coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

You will work on enclosure design for electronics, thermal management, and participate in manufacturing, supplier evaluation, and system integration, with experience in tolerance analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, and ECN processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in complete mechanical design lifecycle.
• Knowledge of mechanical concepts for electronics enclosures and LRUs.
• Experience in enclosure design and thermal management for electronics.
• Experience with manufacturing, supplier evaluation and system integration.
• Familiarity with ISO, ASME, DIN, AS9100 and NFE standards.
• Experience coordinating with customer engineering teams for design reviews.

Job description

Role: Title is Senior Mech Design Engineer. Responsible for the mechanical activities for ESDM and reporting to HW Manager. Responsible for the delivery of the mechanical designs. Interact with supplier and cross functional team.

Experience: 08 to 10 years of experience in mechanical design. Sound knowledge on providing different mechanical concepts for the requirements. Experience of mechanical design and development of ATEs, LRUs, and localization and cost out propositions. Good level of experience in enclosure design for Electronics and good understanding of the Thermal aspects of the design. Experience of manufacturing, supplier evaluation, system integration. Ability to coordinate with technicians and suppliers for system assembly compliance. Hands on experience of various analysis like tolerance stack‑up analysis, DFMEA, DVP&R, and ECR/ECN. Knowledge on different processes / standards- like ISO, ASME, DIN, AS9100 and NFE standards. Experience in handling customer engineering teams for design reviews and cross‑functional teams for project delivery. Oversee mechanical assembly, integration, and testing of products and assembly technicians; ensure adherence to design specifications and delivery timelines. Tool knowledge of CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, ANSYS.

Qualification: BE/ME/MTech in Mechanical engineering

Must have: Experience in the complete mechanical design lifecycle. Understanding of customer requirements and the supplier eco system to design.

Prefer to have: Supplier and parts availability knowledge and Manufacturing domain knowledge
