Job summary

Pertemps Network Group is seeking a Renewables Maintenance Technician to join our client’s team in County Wexford, Ireland. The role focuses on maintaining wind turbine and substation assets, with involvement across sites in Ireland and occasional travel in Europe.

On-call duties and allowances are part of the package. The ideal candidate has electrical/industrial maintenance qualifications and hands-on experience with wind energy assets, plus the ability to read schematics and work safely at

Qualifications

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, or similar.
• Minimum 2 years of technical maintenance experience within wind, utilities, or industrial environments.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding capability.
• Experience reading electrical schematics.
• Experience working on wind turbine assets is desirable.
• HV/LV certifications or relevant electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbines and substations.
• Carry out mechanical, electrical, diagnostic and safety inspections.
• Troubleshoot faults and perform repairs to minimise downtime.
• Monitor turbine performance, alarms, and asset reliability.
• Complete technical reports and maintain service documentation.
• Update maintenance histories and CMMS records.
• Work with operations, dispatch and technical teams.
• Ensure compliance with QHSE and safety procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Title: Renewables Maintenance Technician

Location: County Wexford, Ireland

Salary: Up to €48,000 + Bonus + On-Call Allowances

Company Overview

We are supporting a well-established international renewable energy business in the search for a Renewables Maintenance Technician to join their growing operational team in County Wexford, Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician looking to build their career within the renewable energy sector, working directly on wind energy assets while supporting the performance, reliability, and long-term maintenance of critical infrastructure.

The Opportunity

This position is based in County Wexford, where the primary focus will be on maintaining nearby wind farm assets. Due to the reactive nature of the role, candidates must be located within the region.

You will also support maintenance activities across other sites in Ireland, with occasional international travel across Europe.

Participation in an on-call rota is required, with additional allowances paid for out-of-hours and weekend cover.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative and corrective maintenance on wind turbines and associated substations


• Carry out mechanical, electrical, diagnostic and safety inspections


• Troubleshoot faults and perform repairs to minimise downtime


• Monitor turbine performance, alarms, and asset reliability


• Complete technical reports and maintain accurate service documentation


• Update maintenance histories and CMMS systems


• Work closely with operations, dispatch, and technical teams


• Ensure strict compliance with all QHSE and safety procedures


• Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

Candidate Profile

• Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, or similar


• Minimum 2 years of technical maintenance experience within wind, utilities, or industrial environments


• Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding capability


• Experience reading electrical schematics


• Experience working on Senvion wind turbines is highly desirable


• Exposure to other OEMs such as Enercon, Nordex, GE, Siemens or Vestas is advantageous


• HV/LV certifications or relevant electrical experience


• Practical high-voltage maintenance experience preferred


• Ability to work at height safely


• Good physical fitness for field-based work


• Strong understanding of safety procedures with the ability to assess and communicate risk effectively


• Experience with blade inspection, endoscopy, or advanced turbine inspection techniques is advantageous


• Full driving licence


• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required
