EMPLOYMENT

Full-time, Temporary

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform MMAW/SMAW welding on various materials, primarily steel, in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
  • Select appropriate electrodes and set welding parameters (current and voltage) based on material type and thickness.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and job specifications to determine welding requirements.
  • Inspect completed welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete welds; use measuring tools to verify dimensions and weld integrity.
  • Comply with occupational health and safety regulations, including PPE usage and fire prevention practices; maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and accessories; perform basic diagnostics and repairs as needed.
  • Work effectively within a team to meet production goals and deadlines; communicate with supervisors, project managers, and team members regarding project status and issues.

  • Proven manual arc welding skills (MMAW/SMAW, Method 111) on steel and other metals in all welding positions.
  • Knowledge of electrode selection and ability to adjust welding parameters.
  • At least 2–5 years of welding experience in industrial or construction environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and design specifications.
  • Ability to inspect welds for defects and use measuring tools for quality control.
  • Strong understanding of arc welding safety principles, including PPE, fire protection, and general workplace safety.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision; good physical abilities and manual dexterity.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to diagnose and resolve welding issues; ability to work in fast‑paced environments and within a team.
  • Additional certifications such as ISO 9606, AWS D1.1, or specialized structural welding are an asset.

SAFETY AND WORK CONDITIONS

Work may be performed in confined spaces, at heights, and occasionally in challenging weather or environmental conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including hard hats, gloves, safety footwear, eye and hearing protection. Possible exposure to hazardous materials and heavy equipment is part of the job.
