Job Description:

The Municipality of Killarney–Turtle Mountain is seeking a motivated individual for a Water & Sewer In-Training position. This role supports the Utility, Public Works, and Recreation departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with operation, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater systems.
• Install and service water meters, water/sewer lines.
• Conduct water quality testing and maintain compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and reports.
• Operate municipal equipment and perform general maintenance.
• Participate in safety training and follow Workplace Safety standards.
• Weekend, on-call, and emergency work required.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Strong computer skills and English proficiency.
• Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license.
• Completion of all or part of the following courses, or willingness to enroll within 3 years:
  • Manitoba Conservation & Water Stewardship Certification
  • Water Treatment Class II
  • Water Distribution Class II
  • Wastewater Treatment Class I
  • Wastewater Collection Class II

Skills & Attributes:

• Independent, reliable, and a team player.
• Ability to work in challenging environments (chemicals, underground, outdoors).
• Physically capable of strenuous work.
