Job summary

AECOM Cork is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Water Team in Cork. The role offers a flexible hybrid working model and opportunities across dams, water treatment, distribution, and flood risk projects from concept to completion.

You will design, manage project tasks, visit sites, and collaborate with clients and engineers across disciplines to deliver impactful water projects for communities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required.
  • Experience working in water utilities industry preferred.
  • Membership of a professional institution with a view to gaining chartership preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design: contribute to the design phase of programmes that impact communities.
  • Project Management: support research, data gathering and report preparation for projects.
  • Field Visits: conduct site surveys, inspections and shadowing of engineers.
  • Collaboration: engage with clients, contractors and professionals to discuss requirements and progress.

Here’s an idea of what you could do:

  • Design: Work closely with your manager and peers in the design phase of projects that make a difference to our communities.
  • Project Management: Supportin project-related tasks like research, data gathering, and preparing reports.
  • Field Visits: We will provide site visit opportunities to gain practical experience. This could involve conducting site surveys, inspections and shadowing experienced engineers carrying out supervision.
  • Collaboration: Communicate in meetings with clients, contractors, and other professionals to discuss project requirements, progress, and challenges.
