CREGG Recruitment are looking for a full time Warehouse/Forklift Operative for our client, a successful chemical manufacturer based in Shannon, Co Clare.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to grow a career in chemical manufacturing and distribution industry.

Place of work is Foynes, Co. Limerick, with possibility of occasional work at Shannon, Co. Clare (once or twice a year).

Job description – Warehouse/Forklift Operative:
  • Unloading/transfer of bulk chemical shipments at Foynes dock to storage tanks/warehouse
  • Filling/loading of chemicals into tankers/trucks for transport to parent company in Shannon and/or directly to customers
  • Forklift driving/shunting
  • Use of pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers, etc. for liquid transfer
  • Stock taking, recording data, transferring data/information to parent site in Shannon
  • Communication with ships, hauliers and parent company
  • Directly involved with the offloading of material through our shipping partners, which will include occasionally working unsociable hours
Hours of Work:
  • Initially, 08:00 – 16:30
  • After completed training, 11:30 – 20:00
Salary and Benefits:
  • €15.52 per hour
  • Shift allowance of €32 per day – €160 per week
  • Gradual wage increase, after completed training

Job requirements:
  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Forklift Driver: Forklift Licence (preferred)
  • Chemical Awareness Training
  • Experience of using personal protective equipment
  • Familiar with the use of pumps, valves, compressors, batch controllers, etc. for liquid transfer
  • Familiar with the Safety Data Sheets for Chemicals
  • Familiar with the requirements for the transport of hazardous loads by road
  • Computer Literate, with the use of software packages such as Word, Excel
Contract type:
  • Full time (39 hours per week)
  • Permanent/Long Term
