Job summary

AbbVie in Westport is recruiting Packaging Operators for a short-term contract to join a diverse team and ensure high quality and safety standards while gaining exposure to advanced production, filling, and packaging technologies.

You will operate high-speed equipment for manual and automated assembly and packaging of pharmaceutical products, with shifts including weekday nights and 12-hour weekends; applicants should indicate preferred pattern.

Qualifications

• Leaving cert or equivalent qualification required.
• Knowledge of computer systems desirable but not essential
• Ability to build strong relationships and work within cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and presentations skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and organized work area during and at the end of each shift.
• Assist AbbVie in achieving environmental, health, and safety goals by working safely and observing all general plant and department safety policies.
• Report safety issues and raise observations on the e-achieve system.
• Completion of batch ID coding in accordance with SOP’s.
• Complete final visual inspection of R&D, NPI and commercial biologic parenteral products
• Conduct in-process quality control checks in accordance with SOP’s.
• Complete Line Clearance, reconciliation and sample procurement in accordance with SOPs and cGMPs.
• Perform all assigned duties according to departmental SOP's and cGMP's.
• Remain current on proper procedures by reviewing current, revised, and new SOP's relating to the job and to the department.
• Complete and remain current with all required cGMP and safety training.
• Perform tasks in intermediate packaging of product to provide on-time delivery to customers.
• Complete all required documentation associated with visual inspection and packaging of product.
• Perform inspection tasks to provide on-time delivery to customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As our newest operator, you will ensure the highest quality and safety compliance standards while gaining exposure to new and advanced technology in various areas of production, filling and packaging. This role would suit career changers or anyone wishing to gain valuable experience within the pharmaceutical industry. You will operate high-speed equipment for the manual and/or automated assembly and packaging of pharmaceutical products, ensuring adherence to specifications.

Flexibility around shift patterns is essential. We are currently recruiting for a range of shift-based positions, including weekday night shifts and 12-hour weekend shifts that rotate between days and nights. Applicants should indicate their preferred shift pattern when applying.

Key Activities:
