Acorn Veterinary Clinic, Mallow, Co. Cork

Join a Team Where Your Nursing Skills Truly Matter

Are you looking for a role where you'll feel valued, supported, and excited to come to work each day?

At Acorn Vets, we know that exceptional patient care starts with an exceptional team. We're looking for a passionate and motivated Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and dedicated team in Mallow, where collaboration, clinical excellence, and community spirit are at the heart of everything we do.

Whether you're a newly qualified RVN eager to develop your skills or an experienced nurse looking for your next career move, this is an excellent opportunity to become part of a progressive practice that genuinely invests in its people.

You'll work alongside an experienced team of vets, nurses, and support staff who are passionate about delivering outstanding care while creating a positive and enjoyable workplace. Every day brings a diverse caseload, plenty of opportunities to utilise your skills, and the chance to make a meaningful difference to the lives of pets and their owners.

The Role: Diverse, Engaging & Rewarding

This is a full-time permanent position, offering a varied and fulfilling nursing role within a busy and well-established small animal practice.

Our clinic operates between 8:30am and 6:00pm, with shifts worked on a rota basis. The role includes participation in a 1 in 3 Saturday rota and a minimal out-of-hours emergency on-call service. The commitment is exceptionally light, with nurses typically called out only a handful of times each year.

As a Veterinary Nurse at Acorn Vets, you'll be involved in all aspects of patient care, including:

  • Surgical nursing and anaesthesia monitoring
  • Inpatient care and hospitalisation management
  • Nurse consultations and client education
  • Diagnostic procedures and laboratory work
  • Medical nursing and treatment planning
  • Supporting the veterinary team across a varied and interesting caseload

You’ll be encouraged to fully utilise your nursing qualifications, contribute ideas, and continue developing your clinical interests in a supportive environment that values professional growth.
