Job summary

Veolia Group in Ireland is seeking a Utilities Shift Technician to monitor, operate and perform first line maintenance of Utilities equipment in a cGMP environment in Grangecastle, Clondalkin. The role requires hands-on problem solving, adherence to SOPs, and collaboration with maintenance teams to ensure plant uptime and safety.

Candidates should have relevant trade qualifications, marine qualification, and experience in regulated industries; strong communication and ability to prioritise tasks

Qualifications

  • Trade certificate or City & Guilds in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation.
  • Marine qualification with 2–4 years experience at sea.
  • Experience in Shift or Maintenance teams in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor control systems and alarms in GMP/Non-GMP environments.
  • Escalate alarms per SOPs and investigate as required.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on utilities equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and maintenance/calibration teams.
  • Ensure safe work practices and review permits to work.

The shift technician is responsible for the execution of the day-to-day shift tasks as per the shift Lead requirements.Day to Day of the role;Monitoring relevant control systems for GMP and Non GMP alarms.Responsible for escalation of alarms in accordance with relevant escalation procedures and SOP’s.Investigating alarms as per relevant procedures.Operating utilities equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.Operating utilities equipment to maintain high standard of plant uptime in support of Contract KPI’s.Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with site maintenance procedures.Carrying out technical investigation.Carrying out field round’s and readings of utilities equipment.Participate in maintaining high standard of housekeeping and safety.Review permit to work before signing off.Act as lockout coordinator for Control of Hazardous Energy.Work with vendors and third-party contractors as required.Collaborate with maintenance and calibration teams on the execution of scheduled calibrations, corrective and preventative work as required to meet contact deliverables.Ensure complete execution on time of all operations and maintenance activities on specific utilities equipment.Carry out the review of Utilities Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions as required.Manage own training curricula and review training performance (ITP) with shift lead.To liase with the engineering and commissioning teams on all Utilities Equipment.CUB Coordinator is the starting point for internal escalation processes.Raise reports as required, including safety, TIR and MIR.Actively improve equipment and process knowledge through the use of FDS, SOO and Equipment Data Books etc.Requirements for the role;Trade certificate, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation DisciplineMarine Qualification, with 2 to4 years experience at sea2-3 years experience.Worked in a Shift Team or as part of a Maintenance TeamKnowledge of Utilities Systems as per the below.Worked in a Pharmaceutical, Brewery, Dairy and Food Industry.Worked in a regulated Industry (FDA, IMB, NSAI)Good co-ordination, communication ability.Ability to prioritise jobs.Good working knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for a wide range of plant equipment: Proven capability of working with Pumps, HVAC systems, Air Compressors, Steam Boilers and Steam Systems ancillary services, Domestic Hot Water, Refrigerant Chillers, Cooling towers, Clean Steam Boilers, Purified Water Systems, Sterilization Systems, Low Voltage electrical systems, PLC’s, Building Management Systems (Honey well, Emerson Delta V), Understanding of Basic Instrumentation.Previous exposure to computerised maintenance management work order system (Sap.
