Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Utilities Electrical Engineer to support operation & reliability of site Utilities systems within the Critical Utilities Team. The role emphasizes right-first-time execution, regulatory compliance, safety, quality, and equipment reliability.

The position offers exposure to a range of utility systems, lean principles, and reliability data-driven improvements, with collaboration across Plant SMEs, operations, and Quality teams on a Biopharmaceutical site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in utility systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Electrical trade qualification or a Level 8 degree in Electrical Utility.
• Experience in hardwired control systems and safety circuitry.
• Experience in Life Safety & Security systems (Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV, Emergency Lighting etc.).
• Experience in reading functional design specifications, control drawings, electrical drawings, and P&ID’s.
• Experience in Reliability engineering.
• Experience of Maintenance management and Reliability programs.
• Experience in Utilities start-up & commissioning.
• Experience in planning and executing maintenance shutdowns.
• High level of computer literacy with CMMS and related utility software systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as Utilities Electrical Engineer on the development of Utilities maintenance & operations strategy.
• The Utilities Engineer will be frontline engineering support for operations and will work closely with Plant SMEs to ensure Utilities are operated and maintained to regulatory standards and engineering best practices.
• Utilities Engineer will be accountable for supporting the Utilities Strategy and delivery, developing PMs and job plans reflecting the Utilities scope of works.
• Ongoing reporting of Program performance through targeted KPIs.
• Developing equipment reliability measurement & systems.
• Developing performance monitoring systems & methodologies for the Utility Systems.
• Engaging with equipment vendors in trouble shooting & performance improvements.
• Developing Vendor SLAs.
• Leading investigations on Utilities equipment & Systems.
• Training operations on Utility systems.
• Development of PMs in line with planners and Area owners/SMEs.
