FBD Holdings PLC is seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter focused on Motor Schemes. The role requires a solid underwriting instinct, the ability to assess risk within delegated authority, and a commitment to high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Insurance Underwriter.
• CIP certification or higher.
• Strong technical understanding of insurance products and underwriting disciplines.
• Excellent keyboard skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and underwriting applications.

Responsibilities

• Execution of Motor Schemes strategy to positively impact account performance, including risk level assessment and selection.
• Delivering planned growth and profitability results through underwriting of cases within own Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA).
• Develop positive relationships with scheme partners to develop business, provide quality service and use expertise to support objectives.
• Work closely with Motor Class Lead to support achievement of portfolio objectives.
• Support a high-performance culture through participation in training and internal Quality Assurance activities.
• Pragmatic decision making with solid underwriting assessment and reasoning skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record in building relationships with team units and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to clearly record rationale in decisions.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and develop knowledge and experience.
• Ambitious and energetic in approach and a positive outlook.
• Quality focused to provide excellent service and meet deadlines.

Deliver on growth objectives of motor schemes business through profitable underwriting of motor risks within agreed authority levels whilst developing key partner relationships.

The role will suit an underwriter with a strong understanding of motor products, sound underwriting instinct and understanding of core underwriting disciplines, with demonstrated ability to adhere to underwriting controls and standards.
