EY's UKI Business Consulting - Supply Chain & Operations is recruiting a Manager (Procurement) to lead procurement transformation and public procurement initiatives across Ireland and ROI, delivering complex tenders and strategic sourcing for clients.

You will build strong client relationships, develop market-leading insights, mentor teams, drive business development, and uphold EY values and ethics in a diverse, globally connected firm.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' public procurement experience.
• Qualification in procurement, supply chain, construction, business or science/healthcare.
• Experience with end-to-end procurement processes.
• Knowledge of procurement transformation and operating model changes.
• Experience in tender documents and supplier relationships.
• Specialist knowledge in ICT, infrastructure, utilities, health or professional services

The opportunity

In EY, we are looking to expand and develop our Supply Chain & Operations Consulting practice to meet market demand in:

• Public Procurement
• Procurement Transformation
• Strategic cost reduction

Within EY's Procurement Transformation team we enable clients to maximise value from their third party spend and supplier relationships. We help clients solve commercial & procurement challenges from defining the strategy for sourcing through to managing the effective and efficient delivery of complex tenders and commercial solutions.

In addition to delivery on client engagements, as a Manager you will build valued relationships with external clients and internal peers and support the development of a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities. You will support complex programmes and be expected to support market growth initiatives to help position EY’s brand in the market. You will develop innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and support the development of market leading thought leadership.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager in Supply Chain, you will:

• Have experience in managing and motivate a team of cross-functional experts of different levels
• Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge in your functional area of public procurement.
• Demonstrate ability to quickly learn new processes and uncover new offering that may assist current customer base.
• Tactical and process oriented problem-solving.
• Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
• Build relationships with client personnel and deliver quality client services. Strive to assist our clients uncover additional areas of opportunity and manage the business development process.
• Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to serve clients.
• Contribute to the wider Business Consulting community including people and operational initiatives.
• Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training new team members.
• Conduct performance reviews and contribution to performance feedback for junior level staff.
• Maintain a learning & development program to continually develop personal skills.
• Act as a role model for EY values, integrity and professional ethics.

To qualify for the role, you must haveknowledge and experience in a number of the following areas:

• A minimum of 3 years public procurement experience.
• Hold a third level qualification, preferably in procurement and supply chain, construction, business or science/healthcare or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience of organisation wide procurement transformation including Operating Model Transformation/Procurement reconfiguration across the end to end procurement process.
• Experience of category management capability, developing sourcing strategies, evaluation of tenders and public procurement rules.
• Experience of savings opportunity identification and cost reduction programmes.
• Experience in contract reviews and supplier relationship management.
• Experience in developing tender documents in accordance with procurement directives.
• Specialist Category Knowledge in ICT, Infrastructure, Utilities, Health or Professional Services
