Job summary

Focus Ireland, Dublin, is recruiting a Social Care Worker for Under 18 Residential Services. This full-time, specific-purpose role involves emergency accommodation support for 16–17-year-olds, with duties spanning care planning, safeguarding and crisis response.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, promote positive outcomes, and ensure high standards of care, reporting and collaboration with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• A degree in Social Care or related field (CORU-registered preferred).
• Minimum 1 year direct experience in social care with vulnerable young people.
• Understanding of Residential Childcare services.
• Knowledge of therapeutic approaches relevant to the client group.
• Ability to prioritise workloads in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Treat young people and their families with dignity, respect and active participation.
• Create a safe, welcoming, caring and stable environment for each young person.
• Develop trauma-informed relationships with young people and respond to needs.
• Plan, implement, review and evaluate placement plans with active involvement.
• Work with parents, families and external agencies, attending care meetings.
• Meet day-to-day care needs including meals, school attendance and activities.
• Undertake key working, individual and group work, with written feedback.
• Promote safeguarding and manage risk both on and off site.
