Job Description

Water Meter Reader. Contract Type: Temporary (4 months contract). Rate: Negotiable. Location: Galway/Roscommon. Division: Utilities.

Mainline Group is a leading engineering solutions provider servicing the Power, Water, Telecom & Energy sectors. This role is within our Utilities Division, supporting operations nationwide but covering the Galway region for non‑domestic connections. The successful candidate will work on the water meter reading team.

This position requires that an individual be comfortable in a fast‑paced work environment, as well as possess excellent problem‑solving skills, organisational and communication skills.

Role Responsibilities
  • Inspecting, collecting, and documenting readings from water meters.
  • Checking equipment for damage, faults, unauthorized equipment, or third‑party connections.
  • Activating or deactivating meters as instructed.
  • Driving a company vehicle.
  • Communicating with customers to gain access to meters.
  • Full training will be provided.
