About the role

We’re looking for a Director to join our UK&I Technology Strategy & Advisory team. The role is primarily advisory – you’ll build and maintain technology account leadership with key clients, holding C‑suite relationships, shaping their technology strategy, and leading engagements that define strategy, build the commercial case, and connect the right capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted adviser relationships with CIO, CTO, CDO, Heads of Engineering/Architecture and other senior leaders.
• Own technology account leadership across key strategic accounts, understanding the client’s full technology estate and transformation ambitions and leading strategy engagements across application portfolio rationalisation, AI operating model design, investment case development and programme assurance.
• Integrate people, process and technology considerations into coherent advice, bringing change management, operating model and organisational thinking and translating strategy conversations into credible programmes that draw on Slalom’s capabilities.
• Drive pipeline growth through deep account relationships, thought leadership, and proactive opportunity identification, contributing to the TS&A go‑to‑market motion.
• Partner with Client Partners and Capability leads to develop and close strategic opportunities, acting as solution lead or subject matter expert in key pursuits.
• Lead technology strategy engagements from problem definition to board‑ready outputs, act as Accountable Executive on key accounts and ensure commercial rigour across SOW structuring, margin and engagement economics.
• Coach and develop TS&A practitioners, contribute to the practice’s IP and capability development, and model the desired culture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Consulting or technology advisory background across business strategy, technology change and organisational transformation (not purely architecture, delivery or engineering).
• Experience building senior client relationships at the CIO, CTO or equivalent level, shaping the technology agenda proactively.
• Broad understanding of legacy modernisation, cloud adoption, AI and data strategy, technology operating models and people/process dimensions.
• Proven ability to connect technology strategy conversations to credible commercial opportunities and navigate a multi‑capability organisation to deliver.
• Strong commercial instinct – know how to structure a SOW, manage margin and profitability, and ensure value delivery and alignment with Slalom.
• Thought‑leadership credentials or clear ambition to build them, with a point of view on technology trends and confidence to share.
