Job summary

The County Council invites applications for a Technician Grade II position. Candidates must have the specified QQI/NCEF qualifications or an equivalent, with relevant Civil Engineering, Geo-surveying, or Construction Studies background.

Applicants must have at least three years' satisfactory experience after qualification and meet the further requirements outlined in the notice, including proven experience in a technician post or analogous local authority role.

Qualifications

• Examination in Civil Engineering, or Geo-surveying, or Construction Studies, or Construction Studies in Building Maintenance, or Construction Studies in Architectural Graphics.
• Hold an equivalent qualification.
• and have at least three years satisfactory experience after attaining the qualification concerned.
• Fulfill the following requirements: have, satisfactory relevant experience, in a technician post at Grade II level, or in an analogous post under a local authority or health board in the State.
• and have at least three years satisfactory relevant experience in a technician post at Grade II level or in an analogous post,
• have satisfactory service, in a technician post at Grade 1 or higher level in an analogous post under a local authority or health board in the State.
• possess adequate training or experience relating to the control and supervision of staff.

Job description

Candidates shall on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms for the office:-

(a)

1. have passed the N.C.E.A. / H.E.T.A.C QQI NCF
2. Examination in

1. Civil Engineering, or

1. Geo-surveying, or

• Construction Studies, or

• Construction Studies in Building Maintenance, or

• Construction Studies in Architectural Graphics,

or

• Hold an equivalent qualification

and

1. have at least three years satisfactory experience after attaining the qualification concerned

or

(iii) Fulfill the following requirements:

1. have, satisfactory relevant experience, in a technician post at Grade II level, or in an analogous post under a local authority or health board in the State,

and

have at least three years satisfactory relevant experience in a technician post at Grade II level or in an analogous post,

or

1. have satisfactory service, in a technician post at Grade 1 or higher level in an analogous post under a local authority or health board in the State,

1. possess adequate training or experience relating to the control and supervision of staff.
