Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager III to lead data center expansions and cross-functional programs, partnering with engineering, network, finance, and legal teams to plan requirements, assess risks, and drive schedules globally.

This role focuses on cloud infrastructure strategy, site evaluations, and scalable solutions for hyperscale environments, with Ireland-based compensation and equity. Ireland: €118000 - €120000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years in data center or network infrastructure planning, evaluation and negotiations.
  • Experience evaluating technical cloud infrastructure requirements (power density, cooling, fiber, latency).
  • Experience driving cross-functional programs and influencing executives across global orgs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with assets and engineering teams to identify and recommend infrastructure solutions based on technical criteria, market conditions, and business objectives.
  • Partner with internal cloud engineering, network, security, Finance, legal, and external planners to execute infrastructure strategies.
  • Analyze market trends in hyperscale cloud and hybrid/multi-cloud adoption to inform infrastructure decisions.
  • Translate cloud infrastructure requirements into actionable specifications for data center and network planning.
  • Develop new products to meet future infrastructure needs for Cloud and AI expansion.

Technical Program Manager III, Data Center Expansions
Mid

Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience with data center or network infrastructure planning, evaluation and negotiations including new region launches.
  • Experience evaluating technical cloud infrastructure requirements (e.g., power density, thermal/cooling specifications, fiber network connectivity, or latency) to recommend data center or network footprint solutions.
  • Experience driving cross-functional programs and influencing C-level executives and stakeholders across global organizations.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience leading data center expansion or network infrastructure planning in a hyperscale cloud environment.
  • Experience leading technical site evaluation, infrastructure strategy, or region launches across Middle East, Africa, or European markets.
  • Experience developing financial models, total cost of ownership (TCO) trade-offs, and cost-optimization strategies for physical data center or network assets.
  • Track record of operating independently as the primary technical interface, driving programs with remote management and minimal direct supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physical assets team (e.g., data center, network) and engineering teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend optimal infrastructure solutions based on technical criteria, market conditions, and business objectives.
  • Partner closely with internal cloud engineering, network, security, Finance, and legal teams, as well as external network planners, data center planners, and utility providers, to execute comprehensive infrastructure strategies.
  • Analyze global cloud market trends, including hyperscale growth, hybrid/multi-cloud adoption, and demand for specific cloud services, to inform strategic infrastructure decisions.
  • Translate complex technical cloud infrastructure requirements (e.g., power density, cooling, network connectivity, latency, security, compliance) into actionable specifications for infrastructure planning (e.g., data center, network).
  • Develop new products where necessary to meet future infrastructure needs for Cloud and AI expansion.
