Job summary

AbbVie in Ireland seeks a scientific analyst to perform analytical testing supporting manufacturing, process development and product release. You will lead method transfers, validations and optimizations with S&T and R&D teams, providing technical expertise for investigations and continuous improvement.

You will help develop and maintain laboratory procedures, collaborate across Quality, Manufacturing, EHS and S&T to ensure compliance, and train analysts to build capability and knowledge

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in a Scientific discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, KF and dissolution testing.
  • Knowledge of method transfer, validation and optimization.
  • Familiarity with USP, EP and analytical validation requirements.
  • Understanding of ICH/CDER guidelines and GMP laboratory environments.
  • Experience with MS and XRD is desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.

Job Description


  • Perform analytical testing to support manufacturing operations, process development, and product release activities.

  • Lead and support analytical method transfers, validations, and optimizations in collaboration with Science & Technology (S&T) and R&D teams.

  • Provide technical expertise for laboratory investigations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support the development and maintenance of laboratory procedures, specifications, and quality documentation.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Manufacturing, EHS, and S&T teams to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure all testing activities are completed on schedule.

  • Own and maintain analytical equipment, including qualification activities for new instrumentation.

  • Identify laboratory safety risks and support a strong safety culture.

  • Train and mentor laboratory analysts to support knowledge transfer and capability development.


Qualifications


  • Degree or Diploma in a Scientific discipline.

  • Strong hands‑on experience with HPLC, GC, Karl Fischer (KF), and Dissolution testing.

  • Working knowledge of method transfer, validation, and optimization.

  • Familiarity with USP, EP, and analytical validation requirements.

  • Understanding of ICH/CDER guidelines and GMP laboratory environments.

  • Experience with analytical techniques such as MS and XRD is desirable.

  • Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills


Additional Information

This role is initially as 12 month FTC.
