Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader/PIC for our Respite service who has excellent problem-solving skills to lead a team who works in partnership with our service users, to enable them to live as independently as possible and to be part of their local community.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Responsibility for the day to day running of the services, and accountable for the overall quality of the services.
  • Ensuring the needs & preferences of the people we support are consistently met daily.
  • Ensure that reporting both internally and externally is carried out in a timely and effective way.
  • Liaising with families, the multidisciplinary team and any other personnel as directed/necessary.
  • Carry out required Health and Safety related monitoring and reporting.

The successful candidate will be afforded all necessary training and development in line with the role, including a detailed induction before joining the service.

The Company

Autism Initiatives Ireland was set up in 2005. Our Services are funded and work in partnership with the HSE. We provide a broad range of services which include Community Support (Outreach), Day Horizons, Respite and Residential. Our Services are underpinned by a clear understanding of good autism practice. They are guided by a person-centred approach which focuses on understanding the needs an individual may have in relation to their Autism. Our Residential and Respite services are registered with HIQA. Our expectation is that people with Autism can learn and develop and we support this process every single day. We will create unique services for people to enable them to have ownership of their own lives and future.

Qualifications required

A full Degree in Social Care/ Studies Or Relevant 3rd Level Qualification at degree level i.e.; Social Work, Psychology is essential, (or relevant qualification received outside the state recognised by NARIC equivalent to Irish level 8).

Skills/Abilities required of a Team Leader/PIC
  • Three years Management experience with responsibility for a team of employees.
  • Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector.
  • Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to work alone in coordinating and managing developing services.
  • Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP’s.
  • Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities.
  • Delivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan.
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
  • Full, drivers licence essential.
