Job summary

RECRUITERS is seeking a hands-on Team Lead Biotech Associate for an 11-month contract in Dunboyne. You will lead a nine-person downstream manufacturing team, ensuring safe, compliant production and efficient batch progression.

The role requires a Bachelor’s level degree and at least 5 years in biopharma, with experience in downstream processes and GMP/EHS adherence. It’s a fully onsite, shift-based position with 3-2-2 initially, moving to 4-on/4-off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) in a technical, engineering or science-based discipline, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Experience in downstream manufacturing, including chromatography, filtration or purification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of 9 Biotech Associates within downstream manufacturing operations.
• Act as the technical point of contact for the shift team and liaison with the Manufacturing Shift Lead.
• Oversee batch progression and support production of biologic drug substance through filtration and purification.
• Progress automated recipes using paperless manufacturing technology and operate single-use equipment between runs.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and lead problem-solving to maintain safe, compliant production.
• Coach and mentor team members, supporting training and GMP/EHS standards.
• Lead or support continuous improvement projects, process optimisation and emergency response activities.

An exciting 11-month contract opportunity for an experienced Biotech Associate to join a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Dunboyne. This is a hands-on team lead role, leading a team of 9 Biotech Associates within downstream manufacturing and supporting safe, compliant and efficient batch progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of 9 Biotech Associates within downstream manufacturing operations.
• Act as the technical point of contact for the shift team and key liaison with the Manufacturing Shift Lead.
• Oversee batch progression and support the production of biologic drug substance through filtration and purification processes.
• Progress automated recipes using paperless manufacturing technology and operate single-use equipment between runs.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and lead problem-solving activities to maintain safe and compliant production.
• Coach and mentor team members, supporting training, development and consistent application of GMP and EHS standards.
• Lead or support continuous improvement projects, process optimisation and emergency response activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) in a technical, engineering or science-based discipline, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Previous experience in downstream manufacturing, ideally including chromatography, filtration or purification.
• Demonstrated team leadership experience and ability to coach and develop colleagues.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP, regulated manufacturing environments and biologics operations.
• Experience with electronic manufacturing systems such as SAP, Delta or equivalent.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work proactively under pressure in a 24/7 shift environment.
