Job summary

The Sustaining Engineer at Vertiv Ireland will manage the Product Lifecycle for Switchgear design, an Engineered-To-Order product with high complexity and manufacturing support needs. You will bridge design and manufacturing, solving production issues and driving reliability improvements.

This role emphasizes design for Manufacturability, supporting NPDI, and ensuring quality before release to production. Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of experience in product design.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical preferred).
• 1–3+ years in 3D modeling / 2D drafting.
• Ability to create and troubleshoot control wiring diagrams.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Switchgear design within Oracle PLM.
• Improve design for manufacturability: safety, quality, efficiency.
• Provide design support for production issues.
• Provide design support for supply chain issues.
• Support NPDI (New Product Development and Introduction).
• Ensure quality of ETO design before release to production.
