Job summary

Autism A Chara in Naas, Co. Kildare is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for respite services. The role requires a QQI level 5 Health Care qualification, a person-centred approach, and availability for rota shifts including evenings and weekends.

You will support individuals with complex needs in daily living, promote independence, and help them participate in the community. A full, clean Irish driver’s licence is essential to drive service vehicles; the post offers progression opportunities

Essential criteria for the position of Support Worker

• A full QQI level 5 major award in Health/Care is essential
• Awareness of Key Worker/ Support Worker Role and philosophy surrounding support to people with complex needs
• Programme Planning Person Centred Plans
• Availability to work shifts on a rota basis including evenings and weekends and waking night duty shifts
• Full, clean Irish drivers licence essential with requirement to drive service vehicles
• Permission to work in Ireland essential

Qualifications required for a Support Worker

A full QQI level 5 Health Care Qualification is essential (e.g. health, community, care sector) but a genuine passion for providing person centred support is key to being successful in the role of a Support Worker.
