Job summary

The Orchard Care Group is seeking a dedicated Day Services support worker in Ireland. The role focuses on helping individuals live their best lives, achieve daily goals, and participate in activities on-site and in the community.

You will promote independence, work with a multidisciplinary team, and support people with intellectual disabilities and autism. Applicants should hold a Level 7+ qualification in a relevant field, have excellent communication skills, and be willing to drive company

Qualifications

  • Qualification in relevant discipline (level 7 minimum).
  • Ability to develop and maintain support/care plans and provide required support and care on an individual person-centred basis.
  • Experience working with intellectual disabilities and autism.
  • Full driving licence with eligibility to drive in Ireland.
  • Enthusiastic, resilient, energetic, and proactive.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible and willing to work shifts.
  • Eligible to work in the state without restriction.

Job description

We are currently seeking applications from those interested in joining our team within our Day Services.
The ideal candidate will support individuals to live their best lives and achieving the day to day goals and promoting independence and integration within the community. This is an enjoyable and rewarding role which promotes the people we support to be involved in various activities (i.e., gardening, arts/crafts and many more activities) on-site at the day service and assist them with activities and day trips in the community.
Work Schedule:Monday to Friday
Hours of work: varies between 8.30am -17:00pm / 39 hours per week
Location:Ranesboro/Collooney Sligo
Person Specification:

  • Qualification in relevant discipline (e.g.: social care, health, community care sector) level 7 minimum.
  • Understanding of theNew Directionsmodel, successful applicants should have the ability to develop and maintain support /care plans and provide required support and care to clients on an individual person-centred basis.
  • Experience working with both intellectual disabilities and autism
  • Have a full driving license with eligibility to drive in Ireland and be willing to drive company vehicles
  • Have a genuine passion for working with service users with intellectual disabilities
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Working as part of a team
  • Strong values and person-centred approach
  • Proactive in your care and enjoy a fun loving ethos with activities in the community.
  • Flexible and willing to work shifts if ever required
