Job summary

Aramark Ireland is seeking a passionate senior chef to join our team in a support and development role. The position is based at University Hospital Galway and may cover other sites across Galway, Mayo and Sligo, delivering restaurant and patient feeding services to diverse client sites.

You will work with the development Chefs, train Commis Chefs, follow HACCP and hygiene policies, ensure FIFO stock rotation, and actively participate in health and safety programmes, while moving between units

Qualifications

• Senior level kitchen experience (Senior chef de Partie/Sous Chef) required.
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene including HACCP.
• Ability to move between units and lead culinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support various units as needed, offering cover for absences and working with the development team to drive continuous improvement.
• Champion our food offering across regions, delivering services for patient feeding and the restaurant.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure information is recorded accurately.
• Train and develop Commis Chefs and assist kitchen staff as directed by the Head/Sous Chef.
• Ensure correct stock rotation procedures using the FIFO rule.
• Participate in health and safety training programs and policies.
• Comply with Aramark and hospital policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate creative culinary expertise and adaptability.
• Move between units with good organisational skills and attention to detail.

We are seeking a passionate senior chef to join our team in a support and development role. The role is based in University Hospital Galway but will support other sites as needed, from Galway to Sligo. The role of Support Chef will offer cover to Aramark Healthcare and B&I West sites as required.

What we are looking for from you:

• To support various units as needed, offering cover for absences and working with the development team to drive continuous improvement.
• Be a champion of our food offering across the regions, delivering food services for patient feeding and the restaurant.
• To follow the Catering Hygiene Policy guidelines and Aramark's dress code policy, always maintaining a clean uniform and hygienic appearance.
• Supporting the Head Chef in the training and development of Commis Chefs and aiding other kitchen staff as directed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef
• Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure all necessary information is recorded accurately and efficiently.
• Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed, use the FIFO rule.
• Co-operate fully and participate with/in all health and safety training programs
• Comply with and adhere to all Aramark & Hospital policies and procedures
• Have requisite working experience and culinary expertise to be creative
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple roles as required, with a good understanding of all sections of the kitchen
• Have good organisational skills and work consistently with attention to detail
