Job summary

Aramark Ireland seeks a passionate Senior Chef to join as a Support Chef based at University Hospital Galway, with coverage across Galway, Mayo and Sligo. You will support hospital dining and patient feeding services, work under Development Chefs, and help develop Commis Chefs while maintaining HACCP compliance and high hygiene standards.

This role offers mileage and meals, uniform and shoes provided, sick pay, and a clear path for advancement within Aramark Healthcare and B&I West sites.

Qualifications

• Experience at a senior level in a kitchen (Senior Chef de Partie / Sous Chef).
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene and HACCP principles.
• Garda Vetting is a requirement for this role.
• Ability to travel between units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support various units with absences and assist development team.
• Champion our food offering across regions for patient feeding and restaurant.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and Aramark dress code; maintain hygiene standards.
• Assist Head Chef in training Commis Chefs and other kitchen staff.
• Ensure stock rotation following FIFO; maintain accurate records.
• Participate in health and safety training and company policies.

We are seeking a passionate senior chef to join our team in a support and development role. The role is based in University Hospital Galway but will support other sites as needed, from Galway to Sligo. The role of Support Chef will offer cover to Aramark Healthcare and B&I West sites as required.

What we are looking for from you:

• To support various units as needed, offering cover for absences and working with the development team to drive continuous improvement.
• Be a champion of our food offering across the regions, delivering food services for patient feeding and the restaurant.
• To follow the Catering Hygiene Policy guidelines and Aramark's dress code policy, always maintaining a clean uniform and hygienic appearance.
• Supporting the Head Chef in the training and development of Commis Chefs and aiding other kitchen staff as directed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef
• Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure all necessary information is recorded accurately and efficiently.
• Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed, use the FIFO rule.
• Co-operate fully and participate with/in all health and safety training programs
• Comply with and adhere to all Aramark & Hospital policies and procedures
• Have requisite working experience and culinary expertise to be creative
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple roles as required, with a good understanding of all sections of the kitchen
• Have good organisational skills and work consistently with attention to detail
