Galway Simon Community is seeking a Support Assistant for the Women's High Support Service in Galway. The role is permanent, part-time (32 hours weekly) on a 4-week rolling roster including sleep-overs, with a salary scale of €35,434–€44,539 pro-rata.

Support Assistants work across our housing service, and community support services. Working alongside our Housing Support Officers, delivering practical and emotional supports to clients as part of their overall support plan.
Clients - Support clients from all backgrounds and experiences, in a calm, trauma informed, harm-reduction approach to implement client support plans that maximise their health, self-care, education, community engagement, home management skills, and their overall well-being with the goal of independent living.
Compliance - Stay compliant with all organisation policies, stay up to date on mandatory training, participate in routine maintenance, inspections and cleaning in line with health and safety standards.
Service Delivery - Systematically log and record all interventions with and behalf of clients on relevant systems, work in an organised and efficient manner with clear communication within the team to deliver high-quality professional service.
General - Willingness to adapt as needed to support client and service needs.

Qualification - Minimum QQI Level 5 Major Award in Health Service Skills (5M3782) or Healthcare Support (5M4339)
Experience - 1-year relevant experience in a similar role in a care setting.
Driving - Valid, full driving licence; access to own vehicle and ability to obtain insurance for business use (cost covered by organisation)
Knowledge/Experience of homeless sector
Trauma informed approach
