Supply Chain Manager
Kirby Group Engineering

If you’ve ever looked at a supply chain and thought, "this could run a lot better" — not in theory, but in reality, across multiple countries, stakeholders, and live projects — this is your kind of role.

Kirby Group Engineering is looking for a Supply Chain Manager who doesn't just maintain standards, but owns them. Someone who is comfortable sitting at the centre of operations, governance, performance, and risk — and making it all work together.

This isn’t a back-office procurement position. It's a leadership role with real influence across how Kirby selects, manages, and improves its supply chain globally.

The Role

You’ll take full ownership of Kirby Group Engineering's supply chain lifecycle — from prequalification right through to performance reviews and reapprovals.

Reporting to the Director of Procurement, you'll act as the single point of control for supply chain governance. That means setting the standards, enforcing them, and continuously improving how things are done across every project, region, and package.

You’ll also spend a lot of time working across functions — Operations, Commercial, EHS/ESG, Finance, Legal — ensuring the supply chain performs the way the business expects it to.

What You’ll Be Doing
Own the Governance
  • Lead and enforce the full supply chain management lifecycle
  • Set the standard for how suppliers are selected, evaluated, and retained
  • Introduce structure, consistency, and clear performance expectations across all regions
Drive Supply Chain Performance
  • Build and manage portfolio-level dashboards that actually get used
  • Track supplier performance across safety, quality, commercial and ESG metrics
  • Identify risks early — and do something about them
Strengthen the Supply Base
  • Run ongoing capacity and capability discussions with subcontractors
  • Align Kirby's project pipeline with the right supply partners
  • Identify gaps and proactively build new supplier options in key regions
Control RFQ & Award Processes
  • Ensure RFQs go to the right suppliers, with the right standards, every time
  • Maintain discipline around budgets, approvals, and governance
  • Improve the accuracy between estimated and awarded values (no surprises later)
Lead Performance & Accountability
  • Implement structured supplier performance reviews across all projects
  • Manage escalation pathways — from improvement plans to removal where needed
  • Work closely with Operations to drive better labour and productivity outcomes
Manage Risk & Reapprovals
  • Oversee supplier reapprovals on a rolling 3-year basis
  • Monitor financial health, compliance, and certification standards
  • Provide clear insight to senior leadership on exposure and risk
What Good Looks Like
  • You bring clarity to complex supply chain structures
  • You make governance practical — not just documented
  • you're comfortable challenging stakeholders when standards slip
  • You understand both the commercial and operational realities of construction projects
  • You turn data into decisions, not just dashboards
What You’ll Need
  • Strong experience in supply chain, procurement, or subcontractor management within construction, engineering, or similar project-led environments
  • A clear understanding of risk, compliance, and performance management across suppliers
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work cross-functionally
  • Experience managing supplier performance, frameworks, and governance processes
  • Confidence working with data, reporting tools, and digital systems

You’ll also be comfortable working across systems such as KMS, Kianda, Nintex, MSite, Power BI, and Microsoft 365 — or at least picking them up quickly.

Why Kirby Group Engineering

What That Means For You
  • You’ll have real influence, not just responsibility
  • You’ll be working on major projects with a visible impact
  • You’ll be part of a business that wants to improve — and backs it up
The Bottom Line

This role suits someone who likes being in the middle of it all — governance, performance, risk, stakeholders — and turning moving parts into something that works properly.

It’s not about ticking boxes. It's about building a supply chain that performs.
