Job summary

A community-based disability service provider in Longford is seeking a Supervisor to maintain high standards of person-centred care and enhance the quality of life for service users. The ideal candidate will have a minimum FETAC Level 7 qualification in a relevant field and experience working with young people with intellectual disabilities. A full clean driving license is essential, and applicants should be committed to supporting individuals in a socially inclusive manner.

Qualifications

  • Must register with CORU as a Social Care Worker/Supervisor within required time.
  • Experience in a supervisory role preferred.

Skills

We are looking for staff who are committed to supporting people with disabilities and their families, in a person centred, community based, socially inclusive manner in accordance with our mission and national standards, underpinned by equity, quality, best practice and research.


Supervisor

Specific Purpose 6 Months to 1 Year

35 Hours per week

To maintain the highest attainable standards of personcentred care, to promote optimum independence and to enhance the quality of life of the Service User in all aspects of daily living. To assist and cooperate in the smooth running of the assigned area. To work directly with the Unit Head in identifying programmes/work and design activities suitable to the varying needs of the Service User.


Essential Requirements

Qualification


  • Minimum Ordinary Degree (FETAC Level 7) in Applied Social Studies/Social Care, Nursing or recognised equivalent.

  • Under the Health & Social Care Professional Act 2005 (amended) to regulate the profession of the Social Care Worker/Supervisor. There will be a requirement to register with CORU as a Social Care Worker /Supervisor within the required time frames to practice as a Social Care Worker (section 38 & section 91). E


Experience


  • Experience of working with young people with Intellectual Disabilities essential.

  • Knowledge and Experience of Day Service Interim standards and EASI tool desirable.

  • Full clean driving licence essential as driving is part of the role.
