Job summary

Uniphar Group is seeking a Supervising Pharmacist for Young’s Life Pharmacy Newbridge. You will uphold statutory regulations and professional standards while supporting the pharmacy manager in daily operations.

Responsibilities include health promotion, pharmaceutical care, continuing education and ensuring stock control. The role requires leadership, excellent communication and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• PSI registration with minimum 3 years post-registration experience.
• 1–2 years supervising pharmacist experience is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Observe statutory regulations under the Pharmacy Act 2007.
• Maintain a professional standard in the community pharmacy.
• Participate in health promotion and pharmaceutical care.
• Engage in continuing education to enhance development.
• Implement policies and procedures as directed by Allcare Pharmacy.
• Ensure stock control and proper receipt/documentation for the dispensary.
• Ensure stock security and staff/customer safety with the pharmacy manager.
• Adhere to Health and Safety at Work Act requirements.
• Keep business details confidential without disclosure outside the company without approval.
• Support store retail standards including category management, merchandising and stock control.
• Keep up to date with changes to legislation and PSI guidance.

Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Supervising Pharmacist to join the team in Young’s Life Pharmacy Newbridge.

Requirements:

• Strictly observe statutory regulations relating to the supply of medical products as per the Pharmacy Act 2007.
• To maintain the community pharmacy to a proper professional standard.
• To be involved where appropriate in programs of Health Promotion and the implementation of Pharmaceutical Care.
• To partake in Continuing Education Programs to enhance continuous professional development.
• To implement policies and procedures as introduced by Allcare Pharmacy and standard operating procedures.
• To ensure that proper stock control is maintained and the correct receipt and documentation of all goods and services is upheld pertaining to the dispensary.
• To be responsible for the security of all stock, property, keys and the safety of all staff and customers in conjunction with the pharmacy Manager
• To observe the details as laid down in the Health and Safety of Work Act and that all staff adhere to the details.
• To ensure that details of the business are confidential and not divulged to persons outside the company without prior approval from Allcare Pharmacy.
• Ensure that the proper procedure for the various Department of Health Schemes e.g. DPS, LTI, GMS is carried out and that they are kept up to date, submitted properly at the end of each month and payment is reconciled as set down by Company Procedures.
• To support the pharmacy manager in ensuring store retail standards and practices are in place and maintained, including: Category Management, Merchandising and Stock Control.
• To keep up to date with all changes to legislation and P.S.I. Practice guidance.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills Required

• 1-2 years as a Supervising Pharmacist is highly advantageous
• Member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, with a minimum of 3 years Post-registration experience.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication, Interpersonal and leadership skills
• Highly organized with a proven ability to work on multiple tasks accurately in a busy environment
• The ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team is essential
