Job summary

Clifton Scannell Emerson Associates in Ireland seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to join a collaborative team delivering structural designs across commercial, industrial, residential, educational, healthcare, civic, and data centre projects.

You will utilise Eurocodes, BIM, Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, TEDDS and Revit to produce robust calculations and drawings, while mentoring staff and contributing to CPD and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in structural engineering consultancy.
  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Level 8 or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
  • Experience using Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, TEDDS or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Revit and BIM processes is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
  • Ongoing CPD and professional development support.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of structural engineering design across a range of projects including Industrial, Residential, Commercial, Educational, Healthcare, Civic Buildings and Data Centres.
  • Delivery of designs through all project stages including concept, planning, detailed design, tender, and construction.
  • Preparation and review of structural calculations, drawings, and technical deliverables.
  • Coordination with multidisciplinary teams including architects, civil engineers, MEP consultants, and contractors.
  • Assisting with development and review of BIM/Revit models and project documentation.
  • Participation in client, stakeholder, and design team meetings.
  • Undertaking site visits, inspections, and construction monitoring as required under BCAR 2014.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery of structural engineering design across a range of projects including Industrial, Residential, Commercial, Educational, Healthcare, Civic Buildings and Data Centres
  • Delivery of designs through all project stages including concept, planning, detailed design, tender, and construction
  • Design of structures in accordance with Eurocodes using steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
  • Preparation and review of structural calculations, drawings, and technical deliverables
  • Use of structural analysis and design software including Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, TEDDS and similar packages
  • Coordination with multidisciplinary teams including architects, civil engineers, MEP consultants, and contractors to deliver integrated design solutions
  • Assisting with the development and review of BIM/Revit models and project documentation
  • Participation in client, stakeholder, and design team meetings
  • Undertaking site visits, inspections, and construction monitoring as required under BCAR 2014
  • Preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction documentation
  • Review of contractor proposals, temporary works submissions, and design information
  • Assisting with PSDP, Assigned Certifier, and Ancillary Certifier duties where required
  • Supporting project planning and delivery to meet programme deadlines
  • Contributing to design reviews with a focus on safety, buildability, sustainability, and quality
  • Supporting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience working in structural engineering consultancy
  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Level 8 or equivalent)
  • Proven experience delivering building and structural projects across multiple design stages
  • Strong understanding of Eurocodes and relevant Irish Building Regulations
  • Experience using Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, TEDDS or equivalent structural software
  • Knowledge of Revit and BIM processes is advantageous
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload and work effectively within a team environment
  • Progress toward or interest in professional accreditation (e.g. Chartered Engineer) is desirable
