Job summary

Verizon is seeking a skilled supply planning professional in Ireland to gatekeep net-new procurement requests and optimise inventory across the organisation. You will drive cost avoidance, protect capital, and audit material mappings within ERP/MRP systems, including SAP, to identify internal surplus and lower-cost alternatives.

The role requires experience with multi-system inventory mapping and cross-reference datasets, plus the ability to collaborate with sourcing, engineering and finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or experience in supply planning, inventory control operations, procurement and supply analysis, or material management.
• Experience with enterprise ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP) and multi-tier inventory management tools.
• Experience managing multi-system inventory mapping and cross‑referencing multi‑source datasets.

Responsibilities

• Serving as the gatekeeper for net-new procurement requests, driving capital protection, cost avoidance, and inventory optimisation across the organisation, for the vendors scope assigned to you.
• Executing a multi-layer validation workflow on incoming order requests prior to purchase order release to prevent redundant capital expenditure.
• Auditing material mapping structures across enterprise ERP/MRP systems and regional asset pools to identify available internal surplus.
• Intercepting planned capital purchases by evaluating internal equipment markets, third‑party surplus, and harvested inventory channels to fulfill demand through lower‑cost alternatives before purchasing from the external market.
• Analysing rolling demand forecasts against total available supply and in‑flight pipeline data to validate true net demand and eliminate over‑procurement.
• Evaluating vendor delivery schedules against planner lead times to enforce capital safeguards, holding or deferring purchase order releases when lead‑time buffers are excessive.
• Actioning and maintaining operational reports.
