Job summary

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications include BSc (Hons) in Medical/Biomedical Science or equivalent, and appropriate postgraduate/CPD credentials.
• Seven years of clinical laboratory experience with 2 years in a promotional grade.
• CORU registration or eligibility for registration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation and performance of the microbiology service with quality measures.
• Provide strategic and clinical leadership to deliver patient-centred laboratory service.
• Lead accreditation efforts and maintain ISO15189 compliance.
• Develop training, ensure staff development, and participate in policy formulation.

Education

BSc (Hons) Medical Science, GMIT

BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science, DIT

Biomedical Science degree from UCC/CIT with related diploma

Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science (DIT/CIT/GMIT) + BSc (Applied Science) (Biomedical option)

NFQ Level 9 postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Laboratory Science or related fields
