Job summary

Hero Recruitment is seeking an Energy & Sustainability Manager for a County Mayo manufacturing site. The role leads the sustainability and environmental agenda with plant leadership, ensuring ISO 14001/50001/14068 compliance and driving decarbonisation across energy, water and waste.

The role requires hands-on management of energy programs, policy development, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver measurable environmental improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
• 7+ years in Environment/Sustainability in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of energy audits, metering, renewables, and micro-grids.

Responsibilities

• Lead improvement of the site's Environmental Management System (ISO 14001/50001/14068).
• Develop and execute the site's annual sustainability strategy and energy programs.
• Drive decarbonisation initiatives including renewable energy adoption and scope 3 reductions.
• Own energy, water, and waste performance, monitoring and reporting.
• Lead a water management roadmap with CAPEX planning and reductions.
• Deliver environmental training and advise on energy/environmental matters.
• Represent the site in the global Environment Network and shape policy.
