Job summary

Cumming Group in Dublin operates across Ireland and beyond, seeking a Cost Manager for our Cork team to lead cost consultancy and advisory work through concept to completion. You will deliver estimates, procurement guidance, and post-contract administration, while guiding teams and collaborating with clients to achieve project value.

You will mentor colleagues, engage in business development, and contribute to a collaborative, outcomes-focused culture with hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction, or Engineering.
• 7+ years in cost consultancy or quantity surveying.
• MRICS, AssocRICS, or equivalent chartered status (or working towards).
• Strong knowledge of Irish contract forms (RIAI, GCCC).
• Excellent commercial awareness and client relationship skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare cost estimates across design and construction stages.
• Provide procurement advice and tender analysis.
• Lead and manage client accounts and meetings.
• Review contracts and participate in negotiations.
• Evaluate change orders and contractor pricing.
• Manage contract administration and cost controls in construction.
• Deliver continuous cost management, value engineering, cashflow forecasting.
• Prepare project plans, fee proposals, and resourcing plans.
• Support senior management with client reporting and performance metrics.
• Mentor junior cost consultants and commercial managers.
• Represent Cumming Group at industry events for business development.
