Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is hiring a Store Detective to safeguard store assets and deter theft across our retail locations in Ireland. You will monitor activity, follow suspicious individuals, and detain anyone attempting to leave with stolen goods while documenting evidence and writing detailed reports.

• Experience as a Store Detective is beneficial.
• Own transport and willing to travel.
• Mature and responsible attitude.
• Good observational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prevent and detect theft to reduce losses.
• Follow shoppers or staff who behave suspiciously.
• Take evidence from witnesses.
• Write reports.
• Detain anyone attempting to leave the store with stolen goods.
• Handle sensitive situations professionally.
• Operate surveillance systems such as CCTV and electronic tags.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for Loss Prevention, to prevent and detect theft
• Following shoppers or staff who behave suspiciously
• Taking evidence from witness
• Writing reports
• Detaining anyone trying to leave the store with stolen goods
• Handle sensitive situations in a professional manner
• Expert use modern surveillance systems such as CCTV and electronic tags

Essential Hiring Criteria

• Must have valid PSA licence
• Previous experience as a Store Detective would be beneficial
• Must have own transport and be prepared to travel. Full clean driving licence.
• A mature and responsible attitude to work
• Good observational skills
