Job summary

Reddit is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to lead reliability initiatives for critical user‑facing systems at internet scale. You will collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to enhance availability, latency, and resiliency across APIs, content delivery, feeds, and real‑time experiences.

This senior role requires strong expertise in distributed systems, Kubernetes, and modern observability tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles operating large scale distributed systems.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
• Strong experience supporting high traffic, user facing production environments.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, Linux systems, cloud native architectures.
• Experience designing highly available systems with strong operational and reliability practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead Reliability Engineering for User Experience and key services.
• Architect for scale and guide capacity planning and failover strategies.
• Reduce operational risk with proactive mitigations across deployments and infra.
• Drive automation to improve deployment safety and incident response.
• Lead complex incident response efforts and postmortems.
